KB_ & SITP present: LAWAAISYSTEEM!
Thursday, 9 July | 21:00 h
Garage Noord | Gedempt Hamerkanaal 40, Amsterdam
KB_ and Space is the Place present an exciting night at Garage Noord, moving between electronic music, dub, and exhilarating live performances. mundu lawaai offers an entrancing extended live show, hosted alongside kaskawina band Ametare. DJs explore dance music systems through sonic diasporic culture and hybrid baile funk in relentless B2B formations by Onda Collective, the anti-fascist, genre-defying sounds of Nightmare People from Hell and TiZi’s colorful blend of jazzy house, South American rhythms, and playful club curiosities.

LINE-UP:
mundu lawaai (live + impro cypher) | Ametare | TiZi | Nightmare People from Hell | Onda Collective
mundu lawaai

mundu lawaai seeks the sound of a global generation in electric song-beats that blend layered drums, live dub, and rapping. A decisively urban club band, their urgent noise reflects a need for collective improvisation facing post-coloniality and mass media consumption, and a reality where not even baile funk and Balinese gamelan can escape virtual dialogue. Following their debut at Minimal Music Festival 2026, they promise to
re-emerge at their heaviest yet, sampling anew from the crossroads of 2020s dance music and ancient “folk” forms.
Gabriel de Oliveira: guitar, vocals, sampler | Alek Kurniawan: mixing board, electronics | Chaerin Im: synthesizer | Kroes: bass, Ableton, sampler | Krishna Sutedja: kendang, gendèr/gangsa, bonang, percussions | Niels Luteijn: drums | Jelle Huizinga: vocals
Nightmare People from Hell
The DJ sets of Nightmare People from Hell – a B2B by Sophie Straat & Nushin Naini from Devon Rexi – are a sonic front against patriarchy, nationalism, and cultural homogeneity. Think: Punjabi pop, Arab trap, kuduro, baile funk, punk, Irani club, stray samples, and sound from leftist political archive material. A party of anti-fascist and feminist sound with attention to who and what needs to be heard.

TiZi

A small town girly with a heart beating fast like the big city.
TiZi is a vocal artist, on a journey through colors sound and movement. And she loves to play around behind the decks as well, with a foundation in jazzy house sounds to sexy south American rhythms and wonky circus melodies.
ONDA COLLECTIVE
Onda is a Brazilian & Afro-Latin rooted collective formed by multicultural Amsterdam DJs, blending their heritage and Europe’s underground club culture to craft sonic and visual experiences that connect backgrounds, bodies, and rhythms. “Onda” is a Portuguese word meaning wave, while in Brazilian slang standing for a popular trend in style or a psychotropic effect. This wave represents a continuous movement shaped by people to transform cultures and sounds into a constant flow, always carrying energy forward. For this night, Onda Collective hits the floor with a nonstop B2B by its founders Pedro da Mata, Not Yet and AAlva, featuring bass-heavy house and hypnotic grooves hybridizing with fiery, sensual baile funk.

Ametare
After some DJs warm up the night in Bar 40, in the middle of the event, we’ll move to Garage’s main room to dance with Surinamese kaskawina ensemble Ametare.
