In 2026, Space is the Place and Goethe-Institut Amsterdam promote a joint open call program for a residency, the first one took place in June, and it’s now returning in October. The new project selected, presented by Timothé Lantoine, will perform in the concert hall of the Goethe-Institut Niederlande in Amsterdam, on the 25th of October to close the second residency.

Timothé Lantoine

Four characters functioning as an ecosystem encounter and react to each other. Four personalities meet and investigate the relationship between real-time music and composition. Every gesture transforms the conditions for the next one; every silence becomes an invitation for another layer to appear. Musical forms are not predetermined, it emerges through listening, negation, compromise, response and/or argument. Each performer embodies a character, with their own behaviours and relationships, and chooses to interact with predefined material. Rather than fixing musical material, the composition defines relationships: ways of listening, reacting, interrupting, supporting, confronting, or transforming one another. With flexible desires, the ensemble moves between instruments, voice, text, objects, movement, and techniques, allowing each performance to become a unique situation shaped by the moment and the audience.
