Despite the current corona-regulations we are very happy to announce the next concert in our Sexy Planet series on November, 20 at Sexyland featuring Joost Oomen, Rubatong & Loot. The show must go on!

We will make sure all corona-regulations are in place ánd we guarantee a superb programme & evening! If the government decides not to open the theaters again, we will of course refund the money (minus reservation costs).

Unfortunately new Corona-regulations are in place. This meant that the two shows at the Bimhuis on October, 16 are canceled.

We moved the Sexy Planet concert of 23 October to De Ruimte with a different set-up, so Sexy Planet is on!

On Friday 23 October at 18h00 we will present the Dramm family ft Diamanda La Berge Dramm, David Dramm & Anne La Berge, after that Leo Svirsky solo and finally the challenging trio Marta Warelis / Ada Rave / Tristan Renfrow. So, three separate sets. You can pick your choice or visit them all!

More dates & line-ups will follow soon.

Stay safe & sound and enjoy the music!

Yeah! We can finally start to organize some great events again!

On Saturday 10 October at 17h00 we will start with the first concert of SEXY PLANET, series for boundless music, presented by Stichting Doek and Space is the Place, together with De Ruimte. It will be hosted by SEXYLAND. Line-up: Ambush Party Broken Cumbia, Reinier Baas / Fuensanta Mendez , Dodo Kis Solo , Eric Boeren / Miguel Petruccelli / Frank Rosaly.

On Friday 16 October there will be another Intergalactic night at BIMHUIS - an evening with a kaleidoscope of genres and disciplines including jazz, dance, theater, classical, poetry and self-made instruments.

There will be two shows: an early one at 7.30 PM and a late one at 9.30 PM. This edition features young cellist Lidy Blijdorp, poet and writer Joost Oomen, the saxophonists Ada Rave and John Dikeman (both solo) and house pianist Ernst Glerum.

More concerts in October and November are waiting to be confirmed this week, so we will keep you posted.

In the mean time Space is the Place has been working on plans and shapes for the (near) future. De Ruimte is on the verge of finding a new place in Amsterdam-Noord, where we should be able to start up again our improv series! Very exciting and waiting to be explored.

Besides that, more concerts at Bimhuis are expected in autumn. And perhaps, who knows, a concert in summer pops up… More info soon!

Here are some beautiful photos of musicians @ De Ruimte before or after their performance, taken by Erik Smits.

Just like all the other cultural institutions Space is the Place has had to postpone its activities until at least June, 1st, in both the Bimhuis and de Ruimte. We feel sad that we can't celebrate our 5-Year Anniversary with the festival on April, 12. Most of all we are worried about the financial situation of all the musicians and artists.

The only thing we can do is to look forward and carefully make some plans for special concerts and festivals in the summer months.

Take care and we keep you updated!
