BIMHUIS Presents OBJET SONORE – UNDERNEATH THE BIMHUIS
Objet Sonore was concocted by Luc Ex: a horn-shaped object, 7 metres long and 3.6 metres high, designed by visual artist Peter Zegveld. This new sound installation is the focal point of a two-part outside concert (below the BIMHUIS). The program takes place twice, at 2.30 PM and 4 PM.
In the first part, Lux Ex presents a new composition, consisting of city noise: building sites, trolley bags, sirens, train brakes: by organizing them, Lux Ex creates music.
Part two is a duo performance: Ab Baars plays saxophone while Luc Ex accompanies him, or challenges him, with all kinds of sounds, like an audio set builder.

Note: this event is presented by the BIMHUIS and is for free
ZEBRA STREET BAND
The Zebra Street Band creates highly energetic music that is both artistic and infectiously danceable. Myriad styles melt together into a repertoire that echoes Africa and the Caribbeans as well as jazz and breakbeat. Moments of groove alternate with floating textures and collective improvisations.
Salvoandrea Lucifora – trombone | Alistair Payne – trumpet | Andrius Dereviancenko – tenor sax | John Dikeman – baritone sax | Onno Govaert – drums | Fabio Galeazzi – Drums
Harald Austbø is a jazz cellist. He is active in the Amsterdam jazz & improv scene, plays in several bands, acts and composes for music theater productions. He improvises exuberantly and with humor. Every now and then you are put into rest by a lyrical stroking moment, but a little later it goes completely loose again rhythmically and otherwise.

JOHN DIKEMAN / ERNST GLERUM
John Dikeman is an American saxophonist. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of sources, John’s playing runs the gamut of improvised music and technique. Ernst Glerum is a fixed value in Dutch jazz and improvisation, for example as a double bassist in the ICP Orchestra and the Benjamin Herman Trio.
The duo Dikeman / Glerum originated in De Ruimte a couple of years ago; today they will perform from their Spirituals project, where they play classical spirituals from different musical traditions, ranging from European church songs to gospel and blues and jazzy improvisations.
