DE RUIMTE PRESENTS: SUMMER SPACE IMPRO #5

Back in 2010, this trio (plus Michael Moore on a few tracks) released an album, Avalonia. The album received favorable reviews, and concerts followed. They played the Bimhuis, to SITP programmer Tim Sprangers’ delight (review). Unfortunately, Flin van Hemmen decided to emigrate, so the only times they play together, are when he’s back in Amsterdam.

Which doesn’t mean they’ve been sitting still. Now, eight years later, all three have played and recorded with a long list of great performers. We’re very curious to see how this reflects in the sound of the group. We’re sure we won’t be disappointed.

Alistair Payne
Alistair Payne is a trumpeter and composer born in Southern Scotland. After having had lessons in the Scottish professional scene, he went to study at the Conservatorium in Amsterdam. He currently lives in Amsterdam and is a very active participator of the Amsterdam international music scene.
