  • Fearless sounds, recalcitrant rhythms and exciting interplay – it’s time to enjoy the best of the Amsterdam adventurous music scene and beyond in this inspiring concert series! Improv giants Stichting Doek and Space is the Place, together with De Ruimte, present Sexy Planet in Sexyland and other places.

Due to the newest corona-regulations the concert evening will be held at De Ruimte. There will be three separate sets. You can buy tickets for one or more sets. Officially, the audience has to leave De Ruimte between the sets. We are very happy that we can still organise the concerts!

We will make sure all corona safety measures will be in place. Therefore unfortunately, we cannot serve drinks or food.

ADA RAVE / MARTA WARELIS / TRISTAN RENFROW
Three high-profile improvising musicians from the Amsterdam scene: saxophonist Ada Rave, pianist Marta Warelis and drummer Tristan Renfrow. They take you on a journey in sound, rich in melody and texture, sometimes fierce and sometimes calm, like waves along the coast.

Ada Rave – sax, bass clarinet | Marta Warelis – piano | Tristan Renfrow – drums

    LEO SVIRSKY SOLO
Leo Svirsky (b. 1988, USA) is a Russian-American pianist and composer currently based in the Hague, Netherlands. His music explores the instability of listening and the disorientation of memory and affect while remaining grounded in history and symbol, song and story. His latest solo record ‘River without banks’ is a masterpiece.

DIAMANDA LA BERGE DRAMM / DAVID DRAMM / ANNE LA BERGE

They are called ‘The 21st century von Trapp family’, composer and guitarist David Dramm, composer and flutist Anne La Berge, and composer and violinist (and their daughter) Diamanda La Berge Dramm. For as long as Diamanda (Dutch Classical Talent in 2018) can remember, the La Berge Dramm family has been making music, also together, on the stages and in a domestic circle. Last year, all those own compositions and pieces by, for example, Charles Ives, but also covers of The Velvet Underground, Cindy Walker and Burt Bacharach, among others, were documented on a triple LP: Modern Genetics (Splendor Records release), with sometimes rough, sometimes tender sounds.

Expect a good dose of harmony vocals and playful virtuosity.

David Dramm guitars/vocals | Anne La Berge flutes/electronics/vocals | Diamanda La Berge Dramm violin/vocals/bass pedals/kick drum
