mundu lawaai live at WORM x NSRT

WORM | Rotterdam
For the fourth time, SITP goes to Rotterdam to team up with WORM and North Sea Round Town, to present groundbreaking performances and uncompromising programming. For the occasion, we invite Gabriel De Oliveira’s new project – and this year’s SITProduction – mundu lawaai.

mundu lawaai seeks the sound of a global generation in electric song-beats that blend layered drums, live dub, and rapping. A decisively urban club band, their urgent noise reflects a need for collective improvisation facing post-coloniality and mass media consumption, and a reality where not even baile funk and Balinese gamelan can escape virtual dialogue. Following their debut at Minimal Music Festival 2026, they promise to
re-emerge at their heaviest yet, sampling anew from the crossroads of 2020s dance music and ancient “folk” forms.
Gabriel de Oliveira: guitar, vocals, sampler
Alek Kurniawan: mixing board, electronics
Chaerin Im: synthesizer
Kroes: bass, Ableton, sampler
Krishna Sutedja: kendang, gendèr/gangsa, bonang, percussions
Niels Luteijn: drums
Jelle Huizinga: vocals
Next to mundu lawaai the eclectic lineup features the trio of Milana Zaric, Aurelié Nyirabikali Lierman and Lucija Gregov, and North Sea Round Town’s Artist in Focus 2026 Chaerin Im, with her live electronics group Neon River. Expect an evening where jazz, electronics, and improvisation merge in unpredictable ways.
