In 2026, Space is the Place and Goethe-Institut Amsterdam promote a joint open call program for a residency, taking place in June. The first project selected, Traaffic Triangle, will perform in the concert hall of the Goethe-Institut on June 14th to close the first residency.

TRAAFFIC TRIANGLE

Traaffic Triangle is an improvisational ecosystem with prepared-piano and electronics, drums and a 3CD player that explores triangular interaction in which performers are “electronically” linked.
Individual roles dissolve into a single living sound body, while the spatial approach treats them seriously as individual voices. This contradiction is used to reinforce a sense of disorientation and give greater presence to the movement of sound in space.
How can improvised music hold past, present, and future at once, and what does it feel like to be lost inside that? For the residency, the three musicians created 3 different CDs for each day, with raw improvisation material. They use it to guide their journey through the concert.
Ruggero di Luisi – drums, live electronics | Nadia – 3CD player, live electronics | Tanine Kian – prepared-piano, live electronics
