We enjoyed the first hectical Intergalactic Night in the Bimhuis very much. A lot of things were happening: Ernst Glerum played too beautiful bar music, Han Bennink acted as joyfully as he always does, Dodó Kiss cut her recorder with a huge saw, Peter Zegveld almost went up in smoke and Jeff Aendeboom nearly died on the bar. The Bimhuis Café was packed in an unusual setup with the audience sitting and standing around the artists.
Thanks Govert Driessen for the nice pictures!
We are looking forward to the next one! Write down: December 16th with A.L. Snijders // Ensemble Extraordinair (Han Buhrs & Nora Mulder) // Ernst Glerum solo // Kenzo Kusuda.
Inspired by the multidisciplinary and culinary ditdit-dada-ditdit evenings in de Ruimte, Space is the Place starts this monday with Intergalactic Nights in the Bimhuis café. Expect open evenings in a friendly atmosphere, hanging at the bar, listening and watching suprising music, theatre, poetry and more. And the great Ernst Glerum always plays the piano. We are proud at our first program, monday october 7th:

We guess the first Interplanetary Night in the Bimhuis of the season was a succes. Besides the evening was sold out and de Volkskrant gave a five-star-review, above all we enjoyed the energy of the musicians and the audience and the inspiring creativity of all the artists.
Many thanks to everyone who participated and most of all thanks to The Ex for organising, curating and inventing such a hysterical evenings.
Next Interplanetary Night: November 9, with ao Los Piranas, Aaron Lumley Solo, Superinka & The Galactic Green and Orquesta del Tiempo Perdido
Maarten Mooijman made all the pictures!
Every two months Space is the Place presents INTERGALACTIC NIGHTS in the BIMHUIS café. Slightly inspired by the ditdit-dada-ditdits in de Ruimte, you will hear adventurous music, inspiring theatre, intriguing poetry, dance and much more in four or five short performances. There is one common ingredient during all the nights: Ernst Glerum plays the piano in between the acts.
Tickets (12E) are for sale at www.bimhuis.nl

We are proud the great Ab Baars will play solo this thursday september 5. Ab is focussing on new solo material lately and will play various concerts this year.
Space is the Place and de Ruimte have good memories of Ab Baars. We are thinking of his solo at our old place, before an explosive concert of the Ethiopian dancers and musicians of Fendika. An what about his beautiful 60th birthday in de Ruimte, with a lot of musicians, food and love.
